Summer’s “Fast Five”: What You Need To Know For August 5, 2018

1. Joey Logano won the XFINITY Series race at Watkins Glen International, holding off Team Penske teammate Brad Keselowski. Rain tires made an appearance and some nasty wrecks took place. Read all about it and get the full results here.
2. The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series teams qualified shortly after the XFINITY Series race ended. While the official starting lineup won’t be known until later this morning, here are the results from the Saturday evening session.
3. GMS Racing announced NASCAR legend Bill Elliott (father of current Hendrick Motorsports driver Chase Elliott) will be driving for them at Road America in the XFINITY Series. Kickin’ The Tires was able to speak with him about coming out of retirement.

4. The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series had two practice sessions on Saturday in preparation for today’s race. See full practice results for session one and session two.
