Current ARCA Menards Series points leader Corey Heim earned his first career General Tire Pole Award Friday.

In his 23rd career ARCA Menards Series start, Heim was able to knock Ty Gibbs off the top of the speed charts on his last lap of the session. Heim turned an 87.877-second lap around the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course to earn the pole award. Heim’s previous best start was second three times (Toledo and Phoenix ’21 and IRP ’19).

Gibbs will start from the second position, turning a lap .627-seconds off of the pole. By starting second, it snaps a five-pole streak that dates back to Phoenix. The last time Gibbs started from the second position was at Springfield last season. It will be the seventh second-place start of his ARCA career.

Xfinity Series regular Brandon Jones qualified third while Kris Wright and Nick Sanchez rounded out the top-five in speeds.
