David Starr announced on Tuesday morning that he will pilot the No. 53 Chevy Camaro for Rick Ware Racing at Martinsville Speedway on Wednesday evening.
Joining Starr’s Chevy are Helluva Ranch, Richardson Service 1991 Inc., SANY America, Aubrey HealthMart Pharmacy, YostBarns, Larry Davis Wrecker Service, Fluffy Racing Stables and Dealer Associates Inc.

“I can’t wait to see what this opportunity brings for the rest of the season, this is only the beginning,” expressed Starr. “Thank you to RWR for the opportunity to get back behind the wheel. And to my sponsors, fans, friends and family for the kind words and support during this off time.”
Starr was set to run the full NASCAR Xfinity Series schedule for JD Motorsports w/ Gary Keller this season. But he would only end up making the first four starts of the year.
Towards the end of last month, Starr announced on his social media accounts that he would no longer drive the No. 6 Chevy Camaro in the Xfinity Series.
During these unfortunate circumstances and with a heavy but grateful heart, I will no longer drive the #6 Chevy Camaro. pic.twitter.com/waELsvOXat

When Starr takes the green flag for Wednesday evening’s Blu-Emu 500 at Martinsville, it will be his 10th NASCAR Cup Series start since his series debut in 2011.
The last time he raced in the Cup Series was 2018 when he made two starts at Indianapolis and Texas, finishing 39th in both events.
His best finish in the series is 27th at Bristol Motor Speedway back in 2011 for Leavine Family Racing.
