By Jerry Jordan, Editor

CHICAGO – This past weekend, for the first time in its 75-year history, NASCAR held a street course race with stockcars battling through downtown Chicago as fans lined the course and packed into portable grandstands placed throughout Grant Park.

Despite torrential rains, that forced the early ending of the NASCAR Xfinity Series race and shortened the Cup Series Grant Park 220 to 75 laps instead of 100, fans were in high spirits cheering on the drivers going head-to-head through the city streets. It was something neither Chicagoans nor NASCAR fans, had seen in the past.

Take a look at the action caught by the Kickin’ the Tires cameras from Thursday to Sunday as NASCAR Week played out in the Windy City.
