The highest rated driver on iRacing, Ty Majeski, will wear the simulation’s colors in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series in several races.
Out of 110,000+ iRacers, Majeski is one of very few that have an iRating (skill rating) of over 10,000. In 2,535 starts on the service, he has 1,892 wins, 2,225 top-five finishes, and a staggering 1,717 pole positions.
iRacing’s supported Majeski’s short track racing efforts for years. In short track competition, only the Snowball Derby has eluded the 25-year-old. Majeski’s No. 45 Niece Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado will have iRacing as a primary sponsor beginning with the Strat 200 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
“I can’t thank iRacing enough for their support as we move into the Truck Series this year,” admitted Majeski. “They’ve been a long-time partner of mine. I’m thrilled to continue that this season. The entire organization has been working incredibly hard this offseason to make sure that we have trucks capable of taking our partners to Victory Lane.”
iRacing, which hosts NASCAR’s only sanctioned eSports series, has often supported drivers in their time of need. In NASCAR, iRacing has sponsored Marcos Ambrose, Travis Pastrana, and most recently, Brett Moffitt at Eldora Speedway.
In an iRacing sponsored car, Majeski earned four consecutive ARCA Midwest Tour Championships. The service was also featured prominently during his 2016 World Series of Asphalt Racing Championship. Majeski has wins in prestigious Super Late Model races including the Dick Trickle 99, Howie Lettow Memorial, and Oktoberfest.
“We couldn’t help but notice Ty Majeski years ago, piling up wins and climbing to the highest oval skill rating on iRacing,” explained Tony Gardner, iRacing president.
“Not long after that, we got involved supporting his late model program and watched him stack up big wins in the real world as well. It has been exciting for iRacing to be involved in his career progression, and we’re proud to be part of this next big step with Niece Motorsports.”
For Niece Motorsports, the 2019 season was a breakout year. Ross Chastain earned the team its first three victories and made the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series Playoffs.
“I know for all of the men and women that build our race trucks, the offseason flew by,” stated team owner Al Niece. “But it’s seemed like forever to me.
“We had a great season last year, and I know how hard everyone has been working to prepare for this year. We’ve been fortunate enough to add several great driving talents to our team, in addition to great partners like iRacing. I’m honored that iRacing has decided to come on board and support Ty and Niece Motorsports.”
Chastain will also have iRacing colors on board his Silverado at Pocono Raceway.
“I’m excited to have iRacing on board at Pocono,” said Chastain. “Last year’s race was about as perfect as it gets. I’m confident we’ll contend to take iRacing to Victory Lane when we head back to Pocono this summer.”
