Behind the wheel of the second CMI Motorsports Chevrolet at Las Vegas Motor Speedway will be Stefan Parsons.
Springrates will serve as the primary sponsor of the No. 83 Chevrolet Silverado that Stefan Parsons will drive. The Strat 200 marks the first NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series race that Ray Ciccarelli’s CMI Motorsports will field two trucks in the same race. Parsons joins Bayley Currey, who will pilot the team’s flagship No. 49.
“We’ve been working on it all week to put it together and made it official yesterday morning,” explained team owner Ray Ciccarelli. “I hate to step out of the seat of the No. 83, but I think it’s what’s best for our company. Sarah (Ciccarelli) and I are really excited to have both young, talented drivers to represent our company and sponsor.”
Parsons has four NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series starts. He competed in the 2019 running of the Strat 200 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and finished 31st after mechanical issues.
The Cornelius, N.C. native also drove for CMI Motorsports at Charlotte Motor Speedway last year. Parsons led his first lap in NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series competition with CMI on his way to a 24th-place finish.
“I can’t wait to get to Las Vegas with CMI Motorsports!” exclaimed Parsons. “It’s a great feeling to come back to a track where I have laps and experience. I’m confident that we can capitalize on that and give Springrates a good run on Friday night.
“I can’t thank Ray and Sarah Ciccarelli enough for giving me the opportunity. We had a really good run at Charlotte last year, so we are all excited to build on that.”
The son of former NASCAR driver and current NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series broadcaster Phil Parsons has six NASCAR Xfinity Series starts. In his only 1.5-mile start in Xfinity competition, Parsons has a 23rd-place finish.
