The speedway issued a statement later on Tuesday via Twitter that reads, “We are okay and this missed the track. The communities near us could use all the prayers, good vibes, and positive thoughts you’ve got, though. Thinking of our friends and neighbors tonight.”
The storm system not only prompted tornado watches in Kansas, but as well as areas from Texas all the way to Indiana.
The Monster Energy Cup Series will return back to Kansas Speedway on October 20, 2019 for the Hollywood Casino 400.
