The partnership between Brad Keselowski and the team he currently co-owns, RFK Racing, will come to an end following the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season.
The 2012 Cup Series champion bought into the storied Ford Racing team prior to the 2022 season. In addition to joining the ownership group that also consisted of Jack Roush and Fenway Sports Group, Keselowski took over the reins of the iconic No. 6 Ford Mustang and became the team’s director of competition.
In the five years of the Rochester Hills, Mich. native’s ownership tenure, RFK Racing earned seven victories, including one by Keselowski in the 2024 Goodyear 400 at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway. That marked a turnaround in performance for the organization, which had earned seven wins in the decade prior to the 42-year-old’s arrival.
The organization also reached NASCAR’s postseason, now known as The Chase, five times since 2022, including both Chris Buescher and Ryan Preece this year.
RFK Racing released a statement thanking Keselowski for his efforts and stating that they are fans of him as a driver.
“We are big fans of Brad as a person, driver, and colleague,” said Chip Bowers, President of RFK Racing. “The impact Brad has made on our organization has been felt by everyone associated with RFK Racing; he’s undoubtedly been a terrific representative of our collective efforts both on and off the track. He was not simply driving the No. 6 car but investing himself in the future of the team and helping us think differently about what RFK Racing could become.
“We have tremendous respect for Brad as a champion, competitor, and leader, and we are grateful for the energy and commitment he has brought to RFK. Brad has been clear about his desire to continue competing for years to come, and we respect and support him in pursuing the path that best allows him to achieve those goals. With several races still ahead, we look forward to competing together through the remainder of the season.”
The 36-time Cup Series winner did not have a quote included in RFK Racing’s statement. Keselowski posted a separate statement on his social media pages.
“I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished at RFK over the past five years and grateful for the people I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside, including at Roush Enterprises and Fenway Sports Group,” Keselowski said. “So many great people have poured a tremendous amount into the competitive and technical transformation of this team, and I’ll always value the relationships we’ve built, everything we’ve experienced together, and what I learned as a co-owner and as the head of competition.”
Although his time as a co-owner of RFK Racing and driver for the team has come to an end, Keselowski is not done competing. He intends to continue his career behind the wheel for some time to come.
“I’m nowhere near ready to be done as a driver,” Keselowski continued. “I still have a lot I want to accomplish in this sport, and I’m looking forward to what comes next. I’m thankful for everyone that has been a part of this journey and for the fans who continue to support me, I look forward to sharing future plans when the time is right.”
Keselowski has six races left with RFK Racing before the end of the season and the next chapter of his career. The organization is already on the search for a new director of competition and is committed to fielding three cars next season.
