After five years, the marriage between Kurt and Ashley Busch will end.
The filing on May 9 by Mrs. Busch in Palm Beach County, Fla. seeks the dissolution of the marriage. However, the two separated several weeks before.
In a statement from Kurt Busch, he said it was a personal matter and a sad moment for him.
“Upon inquiry by various press outlets today, I am heartbroken to confirm that my wife Ashley and I are working to dissolve our marriage,” Busch said. “Divorce is a personal and private matter and I hope our privacy will be respected.”
The two were married in a private ceremony on January 7, 2017, in Saint Barthelemy Island.
The news comes in the heels of Busch’s victory at Kansas Speedway this past weekend.
