While the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series playoffs hit race No. 2 Saturday at Richmond Raceway, Kyle Busch has his eyes on another prize that many in the sport may not be looking at.
Next Thursday, September 26, Kyle and wife Samantha will host their fourth-annual Color the Night Event benefiting the Bundle of Joy Fund. The event will take place in Charlotte, North Carolina at the corner of 5th and Church with top executive chefs and a silent auction.
With the Bundle of Joy Fund founded in 2015, The Fund’s main priority is to assist individuals struggling to conceive a child and advocating for infertility education and awareness. Kyle’s wife Samantha struggled with the same condition, making the cause deeply important to them in 2019.
“I’m really looking forward to that,” Busch said. “It’s near and dear to our hearts obviously because of the experiences we went through to have our son Brexton. We want to go out there and help raise money.”
In June, six Charlotte-based couples struggling with infertility were awarded grants to help pay for fertility treatments. The Bundle of Joy grant offerings totaled $105,000 – “the largest amount ever distributed for the foundation” according to Bundle of Joy.
Busch is pleased to see highented sponsorship from M&M’s for the Color the Night event.
“This year, we are already slated ahead of [earning more than] last year which is good,” he said. “It’s sponsored by M&M’s this year which is a huge thing for us — to have a fun outgoing atmosphere and party with everybody being colorful.”
Following a week of controversial press following the Las Vegas playoff opener, Busch is happy to see attention given to the important cause.
“With all the news this week, it seems to be pretty easy to get negative on people,” he said. “But the positives of stories that would be nice to come out are what Samantha and I tend to enjoy doing with Color the Night, so thank you.
“This is our fourth year of doing it. We enjoy being able to get it together.”
