NASCAR officially unveiled the 2027 schedules for the Cup Series, O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and Craftsman Truck Series on August 26. The calendar combines historic venues with military-base street racing, traditional crown-jewel events and several notable changes to The Chase.
The season will feature the return of the Clash to Daytona International Speedway, another NASCAR San Diego weekend at Naval Base Coronado, an All-Star tripleheader at North Wilkesboro Speedway and the championship finales at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
“The 2027 NASCAR national series schedules reflect the continued momentum of our sport and the strong collaboration across our industry to deliver an innovative and balanced schedule for our fans that challenges the best drivers in the world,” NASCAR Chief Operating Officer Ben Kennedy said.
“From the return of NASCAR San Diego and the Wheatley Vodka Clash at Daytona to the NASCAR Championship at Homestead-Miami, this schedule brings together marquee events, iconic venues and key markets while continuing to honor NASCAR’s heritage and evolve for the future.”
The Cup calendar will begin with the Wheatley Vodka Clash returning to Daytona on February 13, marking the exhibition event’s first appearance on the track’s oval since 2020.
It will open Speedweeks and introduce the speedway’s new Musco LED lighting system before the 69th Daytona 500 closes the festivities eight days later.
Daytona previously hosted the Clash during Speedweeks from 1979 through 2021, after which it moved to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum for three seasons and Bowman Gray Stadium for two.
North Wilkesboro will regain the All-Star Race after staging its first Cup points event in three decades during 2026. The May 21–23 weekend will commemorate the track’s 80th anniversary and the 35th anniversary of “One Hot Night,” while also becoming its first national-series tripleheader.
The Trucks will compete Friday, the O’Reilly Series will make its first appearance there since 1985 on Saturday, and the 43rd All-Star Race will conclude FOX Sports’ Cup coverage Sunday night.
NASCAR San Diego Returns Before Moving to Another Military Base
Following its inaugural event commemorating the United States and the U.S. Navy’s 250th anniversary, NASCAR San Diego will return to Naval Base Coronado from July 30 through August 1. The O’Reilly Series will race Saturday before the Cup Series takes over the street course Sunday.
The event forms part of a multi-year arrangement between NASCAR and the Department of War. Their plan calls for the military-base race to move to a different U.S. installation in 2028, allowing the sport to connect with service members, their families and surrounding communities in another part of the country.
San Diego will also decide the second Cup Series In-Season Challenge. The five-round, 32-driver bracket tournament begins at Iowa Speedway on July 4.
It continues across Sonoma Raceway, EchoPark Speedway and Indianapolis Motor Speedway before the surviving contenders compete for the $1 million prize at Coronado. TNT Sports will televise all five rounds, with each event presenting a different style of racing.
Richmond, Watkins Glen and New Hampshire Will Open The Chase
The Cup Series Chase will begin under the lights at Richmond Raceway on September 11, followed by Watkins Glen International and New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Watkins Glen’s inclusion introduces a road course into the championship portion, while the other two venues regain established fall positions.
Before the postseason begins, World Wide Technology Raceway, Daytona and Darlington will form the final three-race regular-season stretch for both the Cup and O’Reilly divisions.
The Southern 500 retains its Labor Day weekend, while the Bristol Night Race moves back to August after being associated with that period for more than four decades.

Dover Motor Speedway returns to its regular Cup points date after hosting the 2026 All-Star Race. Pocono Raceway will hold another three-series weekend, and Chicagoland Speedway remains part of the Cup and O’Reilly calendars.
The Coca-Cola 600 will open Prime Video’s five-event Cup window, followed by Nashville, Pocono, Michigan and Chicagoland. USA Sports takes over beginning with the Bristol Night Race, while FOX Sports and TNT Sports cover the earlier portions assigned to them.
Bowman Gray and Canadian Tire Join the Truck Schedule
Bowman Gray Stadium will retain a place on the national-series calendar by hosting its first Craftsman Truck Series race on August 20. The event extends NASCAR’s presence at “The Madhouse” after the venue staged Cup competition in 2025 and 2026.
Canadian Tire Motorsport Park will return for the first time since 2019 as the Truck regular-season finale on September 5.
The division will also revisit Pocono while maintaining the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, Lime Rock Park and Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park. Its Chase begins at New Hampshire on September 25.
Homestead-Miami Will Decide All Three Championships
Homestead-Miami Speedway will host Championship Weekend for the second consecutive year from November 12–14. The track served as NASCAR’s championship venue from 2002 through 2019 before regaining the season-ending weekend in 2026.
A $20 million improvement project is currently transforming the facility through a new entrance gate, an expanded fan zone and renovations to the Champions Club.
“The 2027 NASCAR national series schedules are the result of tremendous collaboration across the industry to find the right balance of venues, race dates and competitive challenges across all three national series, one that brings the best of our sport to fans around the world,” NASCAR Vice President of Market Development and Strategic Scheduling Julie Giese said.
All three divisions will pause for Easter weekend on March 27–28 and take another break on August 7–8. The CW will televise the complete O’Reilly Series season, while FOX Sports will carry every Truck race. Individual network assignments and starting times will be announced later.
