NEWTON, Iowa – Rain and heavy thunderstorms have forced NASCAR to postpone the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series race at Iowa Speedway until 11 am (noon Eastern) Sunday with the Xfinity Series race running afterward.
Rains that fell earlier in the day forced the cancellation of trucks series qualifying and the starting line-up was set per team owner points. The rains also forced the cancellation of the final Xfinity Series practice.
According to a NASCAR spokesperson the delay should not impact qualifying for the Xfinity Series race, which was scheduled for 1:05 pm CST Sunday. It is scheduled for a green flag drop at 4:30 p.m.
The truck series race and the Xfinity Series will both be broadcast on FS1 at their respective times.
