Alex Labbé will return to the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2021 with DGM Racing.

The St. Albert, Quebec-native returns to the Xfinity Series for his sixth season. Labbé will attempt to run his third full-time season and seeks to make the NASCAR Xfinity Series playoffs for the first time in his career.

“I’m excited to announce another year with DGM Racing and for the chance to build on our momentum from 2020,” said Labbé. “Based on last year’s results I fully believe that we have the right tools to be regular top 10 and playoff contenders.”

2020 was a career season for Labbé as he tallied his first career top-five finish (fourth) in the Charlotte ROVAL race in October. On top of that, Labbé earned a career-high seven top-10 finishes and finished 14th in NASCAR Xfinity Series points.

Racing with a small team, 2021 has many opportunities for Labbé to punch his ticket to the playoffs. With more road courses on the schedule now more than ever, the playing field has been leveled just a bit more.

“It is always exciting for a small team like ours to race on new courses because the bigger teams don’t have as much of an advantage over us,” Labbé said. “We all hit the course at the same time with a blank slate, which helps level the playing field.”

Can-Am will return to sponsor Labbé in 2021 as they have in 28 of his 79 career starts in the Xfinity Series. The BRP brand will be on the car as a primary in four races.

“I feel extremely fortunate to be able to strap into my race car and I could not do it without the financial backing of my partners,” Labbé said. “The current economic climate could have overshadowed this season, so I feel blessed.”

Labbé has secured sponsorship for half of the 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series schedule and continue to search for partners as the season continues as he seeks to run the entire season.
