MADISON, Ill. — Grant Enfinger will lead the field to green in tonight’s Villa Lighting Delivers the Eaton 200 after topping NASCAR Camping World Truck Series qualifying for the first time since 2016.
Enfinger put up a quick time of 32.405 seconds in Round 3 to claim his second-career Truck pole, and his first at a non-restrictor plate track. The Alabaman’s time came in his lone run during the round, ending what had previously been a dominant qualifying effort for Kyle Busch Motorsports and Toyota.
Christian Eckes followed Enfinger with a time of 32.469 seconds to claim second. Noah Gragson, Justin Haley and Ben Rhodes completed the top five, with Rhodes’ No. 41 ThorSport Racing team overcoming a crash in the afternoon’s final practice session and rolling out the backup truck in time for Rhodes to compete in the session.
Matt Crafton, John Hunter Nemechek, Todd Gilliland, Jesse Little and newcomer Zane Smith completed the top 10.
The session went by without much controversy or incident, though there was drama in the final moments of each round.
Round 1 saw both Stewart Friesen and Dalton Sargeant forced to make last-minute runs to advance, with Round 2 serving as the end point for them both. Johnny Sauter failed to advance to the pole round after being bumped in the final seconds of Round 2 by Little.
Camden Murphy and BJ McLeod each failed to qualify for the event.
Coverage for the Truck race will begin at 8:30 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1.
