Wendy Venturini Egert, who calls NASCAR races as a booth announcer and pit reporter for Performance Racing Network, is recovering at Marin General Hospital in Greenbrae, Ca. after being struck by a vehicle early Saturday morning.
According to police, the accident is still under investigation but Egert is awake and has been speaking with officers. She is currently in the emergency room at Marin General, said a corporal with the Novato Police Department. The corporal said police had been “in contact” with the driver but stopped short of saying whether that person had been charged or cited.
Today, PRN’s @WendyVenturini was out running in Sonoma, CA and was stuck by a car. Her prognosis is good but will require a few nights stay in a local hospital. Please offer your thoughts and prayers, as we are, for a speedy recovery.

Egert, who’s best known by her maiden name, Wendy Venturini, is part of the iconic Venturini racing family. She is in California for the weekend’s events at Sonoma Raceway and is an avid runner who exercises daily. She left the hotel she was staying at to go on a morning run when she was hit by a motorist.
Egert is married to Jarrad Egert, who works with Toyota Racing Development and the two have a son. She is originally from Chicago but attended Northwest Cabarrus High School and studied production and psychology at UNC Chapel Hill. During her career working in NASCAR she has been as a pit reporter at SPEED TV, a feature reporter at FS1 and a producer for NASCAR Media Group. When not covering races, she is a certified personal trainer and franchise partner at Burn Boot Camp.
EDITOR’S NOTE: Our thoughts and prayers go out to Wendy and we hope she has a quick recovery.
