For the first time in 2018, Brennan Poole will get behind the wheel of a NASCAR Xfinity Series ride this week.
Poole will get behind the wheel of the No. 23 entry for GMS Racing on Monday during a test at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Mike Beam, president of GMS Racing, confirmed on Friday evening. Poole will take over for Spencer Gallagher, who was indefinitely suspended by NASCAR for violating the substance abuse policy, at the test. According to Beam, nothing has been set in place after the test.
“We have talked to a lot of people. We are going to take it one race at a time. I feel like by Monday, Tuesday, we should know,” Beam said.
Johnny Sauter will fill in for Gallagher on Saturday at Dover.
