After knowing he was good for a four-race stretch beginning at Charlotte, Kaz Grala and Fury Race Cars are on a week-to-week basis when it comes to arriving at the track.

Coming into Daytona, Grala and the team at Fury already have a game plan in place in order to maximize points for the Playoffs and to score the win.

“I think we have to race aggressively. You get to a place like Daytona where you can take a couple different approaches.  I feel like I am going to learn the most through the first two races racing hard and using what I learn there to translate into the third stage,” Grala said.

A win at Daytona for the young organization would be huge as the sponsorship search has moved from the four-race stretch to a week-to-week basis. As of Thursday afternoon at Daytona, the odds of going to Kentucky Speedway is 50-50.

Despite having to search for sponsorship, Grala believes that the organization is doing something unique in this age of NASCAR. Prior to becoming a team In the NASCAR Xfinity Series team, Fury Race Cars build chassis for late models, super late models and modifieds.

“I feel like we are doing something unique in this sport in this day and age. It’s been fun all of us. We don’t necessarily have everything the bigger teams do, but I feel that we have equally as smart as people. The quality is there,” Grala said.

“Since we have the people who know what needs to be done, we can slowly start to get those resources that we don’t have because we know what direction we need to go.”

Through five races with the organization, Grala’s best finish has been 10th twice.
