Dash4Cash lineup set for Bristol

By Caleb Whisler, Staff Writer

The four driver contingent for the opening round of the Dash4Cash program for the NASCAR XFINITY Series is set following the My Bariatric Solutions 300 at Texas Motor Speedway.

In order to participate in the program, the driver must have declared for XFINITY points at the beginning of the season. Christopher Bell, Daniel Hemric, Ryan Preece and Cole Custer will be the first four drivers battling for the $100,000 bonus next weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway.

All four drivers are ready to battle it out for the bonus at Bristol Motor Speedway next weekend.

“It always sounds good when you get the chance to run for an extra $100,000. I was proud of the gains as a company we made here today. To know what XFINITY and Comcast does for our series gives all four of us an opportunity to go do something that’s really cool as young as we are,” Hemric said about the bonus.

For Preece, the bonus provides him the funding to build a race car as well as racing on a short track.

“It’s going to be pretty cool. Bristol is a short track. We are all from the short tracks. Now, we are just going to broaden the XFINITY series and go race at Bristol,” said Preece about the opportunity.

Custer echoed the statements from Preece and Hemric.

“It is pretty amazing. To be able to compete, it is a really awesome thing that Xfinity does for the series. You get to race hard and race for a lot of money. We are going to get after it. It will be fun to go to Bristol. We have been good there in the past and I am looking forward to going there and try to win $100,000 for our team. That would be pretty awesome,” Custer stated.

Going into Bristol, Bell understands that each driver in the program will race harder because of no Cup regulars in the field.

First off, thank you to Xfinity for allowing us to race for $100,000. I think this is the first time in my life I’ve raced for $100,000, so that’s really special. I think if you take all four of us out to any rental go-kart track, we’re going to run just as hard as we would for a Cup win. We’re race car drivers. It doesn’t really matter what we’re racing for, we’re going to go give it our all no matter what,” Bell stated.

The Dash4Cash program kicks off with the Fitzgerald Glider Kits 300 at Bristol on April 14 at 3 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1 and Performance Racing Network.
