Sam Hunt Racing announced Wednesday that Blaine Perkins will join the organization on a multi-year agreement beginning with the 2027 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series season.

Perkins will drive the No. 24 Toyota GR Supra full time and will work with crew chief Brian Gainey, who holds that role with the No. 24 team this season. The team said partners for the entry will be announced at a later date.

The 26-year-old California native moves to Sam Hunt Racing from Jordan Anderson Racing, where he has driven the No. 31 for the past two seasons. Perkins made his series debut in 2021 and has recorded six top-10 finishes in his career. His breakout season came in the ARCA Menards Series West in 2020, when he won three races and finished second in the standings.

Sam Hunt, owner and president of Sam Hunt Racing, said the team sees Perkins as a driver ready to take the next step with the organization.

“We’re extremely excited to have Blaine join the SHR family and continue his development with us into the future,” Hunt said.

Perkins, who has chased a full-time ride with a Toyota team since his series debut, said the agreement fulfills a longtime goal.

“It’s a dream come true to have the opportunity to race for SHR and Toyota,” Perkins said. “I can’t thank my sponsors and supporters enough for helping make a longtime dream of mine into my new reality.”

Perkins will team with Sheldon Creed at Sam Hunt Racing in 2027. Creed was announced earlier for the team’s No. 26 Toyota GR Supra on a multi-year deal of his own.
