DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – As part of the lead-up to Sunday’s Daytona 500, Discount Tire announced a multi-year extension of its long-running motorsports partnership with Team Penske.

In its 14th season supporting owner and businessman Roger Penske’s race teams, Discount Tire will serve as a multi-race primary sponsor of defending Daytona 500 champion Austin Cindric and the No. 2 Ford Mustang team, starting with the 65th running of the Great American Race.

Last year, Cindric took Discount Tire to victory in the Super Bowl of stock car racing as a NASCAR Cup Series rookie, becoming the ninth different driver and second in a row to earn his first Cup Series victory in the sport’s most prestigious event.

Discount Tire will also sponsor Ryan Blaney’s No. 12 Ford in select Cup Series races under the new agreement, as well as serve as an associate-level partner of Team Penske’s three NTT IndyCar Series teams with drivers Josef Newgarden, Scott McLaughlin and Will Power.

“We are proud of Team Penske’s partnership with Discount Tire and the success we have had together over the years, including multiple championships and a victory in the Daytona 500,” said Penske. “Our companies share many of the same core values and this is a partnership that continues to deliver, both on and off the racetrack. We are excited to build on our success together in 2023 and into the future.”

Discount Tire first joined Team Penske in 2010 in the Xfinity Series, a year which saw Brad Keselowski earn six wins and a series-record 26 top-five finishes en route to the season championship.

Since then, Discount Tire has been part of four Xfinity Series owner’s titles (2013-’15, ’17) and 36 race victories across Cup Series and Xfinity Series competition, including last year’s Daytona 500 triumph.

The 36 wins make Discount Tire the second-winningest sponsor in Team Penske’s NASCAR history.

“Discount Tire is grateful for our partnership with Roger Penske and Team Penske,” said Michael Zuieback, executive chairman of Discount Tire. “For more than a decade, this partnership has allowed our people, our customers, and our race team to dream bigger.

“We look forward to celebrating more championships together with Team Penske in the future.”
