TALLADEGA, AL — Fire and emergency crews responded to the Rick Ware Racing No. 52 hauler of Spencer Boyd as the NASCAR Cup Series garage was locking down for the evening.
Security personnel and team sources say there was an electrical short that sparked a small fire that was quickly contained. Not much additional information was available as security officials were ushering people out of the gated garage area.
Team owner, Lisa Ware, said everyone was lucky the fire didn’t happen later, after everyone had left the garage areas as it could have been devastating. She did confirm it started with a short in a refrigerator.
“We are very, very thankful they caught it,” she said.
Reconsider the headline. I hope you made a bunch of ad revenue making people think that the hauler was engulfed in flames. Fake news.
I don’t have ad-click revenue from stories. There was a fire, it involved a hauler. As Lisa said, they were very fortunate. It could have been much worse. I would have had other photos showing more but security would not let us get closer. Thank you, for your opinion. Jerry Jordan, Editor
