Richard Childress Racing announced Friday that Kaz Grala will return to the organization in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2020.
Grala will share the driving duties of the No. 21 Chevrolet Camaro with Anthony Alfredo and Myatt Snider.
21-year old Grala competed in five of the 33 events on the NXS schedule in 2019 for Richard Childress Racing.
In those five starts, he tallied up one top-five, and four top-15 finishes. Grala’s best finish last season as a fifth-place finish at Road America back in August.
“I learned a lot as a driver working with RCR last year, so I feel confident that our existing chemistry as a team will lead to even better results in the NASCAR Xfinity Series this season,” said Grala.
“RCR’s Xfinity Series program is top-notch, and with the No. 21 car running all year, I am excited to be a part of the team chasing yet another owner’s championship. I’m very grateful to Richard Childress for giving me this opportunity to further my career.”
Grala has also spent time in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series in his career. Over a two-year span from 2016 through 2017 he made 32 starts where he tallied up one win, one pole, five top-five and 14 top-10 finishes.
“Kaz showed quite a bit of speed and promise in the No. 21 car last year for RCR,” said Richard Childress, Chairman and CEO of RCR. “I’m confident the results will show in 2020, especially after a year under his belt in our proven Xfinity program.”
Sponsorship and races for Grala will be announced at a later date.
