Robby Lyons will compete in the first three NASCAR Xfinity Series events for JD Motorsports as part of a driver development co-effort with Premium Motorsports, the team announced Tuesday.
“I’m thrilled to get the opportunity to kick off the 2020 season driving for JD Motorsports,” Lyons said in a team press release. “I can’t wait to capitalize on the 3 races we have planned and build on that momentum heading forward.”
Carr & Sons Masonry, Inc. will adorn Lyon’s Chevrolet in the NASCAR Racing Experience 300 at Daytona International Speedway. Sunwest Construction will return to partner with the 31-year-old at Las Vegas and Fontana.
Lyons made his Xfinity Series debut at Homestead-Miami Speedway with Rick Ware Racing where he qualified 33rd and drove up to the 28th position.
The Florida-native scored his best career finish at Phoenix Raceway in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series in 2017.
Lyons’ car number along with the rest of JD Motorsports’ driver lineup will be announced at a later date.
