Chandler Smith races in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series currently for Kyle Busch Motorsports.
The Talking Rock, Georgia driver, whos in his sophomore NCWTS full-time season, has two NASCAR Xfinity Series, 54 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, 34 ARCA Menards Series, and one NASCAR Pinty’s Series starts in his career. He earned his fourth NASCAR Camping World Truck Series victory last weekend at Pocono Raceway and has nine total ARCA Menards Series victories.
Two of those ARCA victories came at Lucas Oil Raceway Park in 2019 and 2020. Smith never competed full-time in the ARCA Menards Series but spent his ARCA career as a part-time driver. Lucas Oil Raceway Park is only one of two tracks that Smith earned more than one victory at. The other is Madison International Speedway.
“I’m not quite sure, both of those track’s definitely treated us well so I definitely enjoy both of those venues,” Smith said when asked about what makes LORP and Madison so special to him.
The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series returns to Lucas Oil Raceway Park on Friday Night for the first time since 2011. Something which could really benefit the Talking Rock, Georgia native.
“Really cool for sure, at the end of the day the experience will pay off,” said Smith. “I have a good notebook for that place and it seems like it fits my driving style as well. It definitely has its own special part just because each win does but because of how dominant I’ve been there in the past it’s special for sure.”
Smith will look to push his way to the next round of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series playoffs with a victory in Friday’s race. Smith will also look to add another chapter of dominance before the Truck race as he’ll pull double-duty driving for Venturini Motorsports in the Reeses 200 ARCA Menards Series race, his first since Pocono in 2021.
